PerformancePantyliners are suitable for daily discharge, light menstrual flow or as back up for a menstrual cup. Lunapads Pantyliners will last approximately as long (per use) as a comparably-sized disposable pantyliner. However, unlike most disposable pantyliners, Lunapads do not contain any added chemicals, gels, or super absorbent polymers. Given this, Lunapads users need to be mindful of changing their pantyliner as frequently as their flow dictates in order to prevent soaking through.
Lunapads will last upwards of 5 years with recommended usage and care. Many of our customers report they still own some Lunapads from 10 years ago!
Lunapads can be washed by hand or machine in any temperature with your regular detergent. Pre-soaking or rinsing in cold water prior to washing is recommended (but not always necessary) particularly if the pads are heavily saturated. Please note that if Lunapads are being soaked, soaking water must be changed daily.
We recommend natural cleaning products such as Nellie’s All Natural Laundry Soda for regular cleaning, and Buncha Farmers Stain Remover to perk up stained Lunapads. Heavily stained Pads, Liners or Pantyliners may also benefit from occasional machine wash and dry in hot settings or air drying in direct sunlight.
Please avoid the use of chlorine bleach or fabric softeners to clean Lunapads, as this will decrease the performance of the products and is harmful to the environment.
Wrap the Pantyliner around the gusset of your underwear and close the snap to secure in place. The fleece panel should be facing up (towards your body on the inside of the panty), as this is the most absorbent part of the pantyliner. Note that incorrect placement of the Pantyliner may result in result reduced comfort or performance.

I purchased the teeny pantyliner kit to use in conjunction with the DivaCup. I tried the DivaCup for the first time last month and it was great. It was easy to use, clean, and eco friendly. I received the pantyliners last week and they were so soft I couldn't wait to try them. I hate the crunchy sound and feeling of ordinary pads. Lunapads were breathable and so soft I couldn't tell them apart from regular underwear. I feel great knowing that my periods will no longer be generating waste, everything is washable! I have already recommended the DivaCup and Lunapads to my family and friends. My only regret is not trying them sooner! (Posted on 11/15/11)
It is a testament to how comfortable these things are, that I was so ridiculously happy to receive them in the mail today. Has anyone ever said that about a disposable product? They are soft, cheerful, and I love the fact that I can throw them in the wash. I had only gotten a 3pk that was on clearance before, to try it out, and I use them so constantly I've been wanting to get more. A two week trip out of the country became the perfect excuse, and their arrival today means I now have time to wash them and pack them up to go with me. I can never go back to the rash inducing disposables that made it necessary to look for alternatives. And I am happy that there's nothing to throw away! They are especially great near the end of my period, where there is just enough flow to run the risk of staining but not enough to justify a pad, because even a Lunapad doesn't feel breathable enough when the weather is hot and humid. These pantyliners, since they don't have the waterproof lining, are perfect, and the perfect size for me too. I love them, and that's something I never expected to say about a pantyliner! After years of making my own pads, I stumbled across Lunapads and decided to give this local company a try. I ordered the 7 Day Teeny Pantyliner Kit and spent my next period relying solely on Teeny Pantyliners. As a woman with endometriosis, menstruation has never been easy or fun for me. To my delight and surprise, Teeny Pantyliners are the best menstrual product I have ever used. Using Lunapads Teeny Pantyliners means no dioxins or other harmful chemicals sit next to my skin, meaning no chemicals to aggravate my condition. As a petite woman, I have found other washable products to be too large for my comfort; Teeny Pantyliners are just the right size for me and my flow. I now use Teeny Pantyliners as menstrual pads - anything longer in length is too much for me and my active lifestyle. Although not advertised for use as a pad, Teeny Pantyliners are all the pad I need, even on my heaviest or most active bleeds. With organic cotton and colourful prints, Teeny Pantyliners offer eco-friendly choices that allow me to cater to my menstrual-whims. The fleece is uniquely comfortable and breathes perfectly. Easy to wash, easy to travel with, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who desires an eco-friendly menstrual product. Not all fashion statements are public - put control of your period back into your own hands by making a healthy choice for your body, your planet, and your wallet. Avoid the social stigma associated with menstruation by reclaiming power over the products you place close to your skin; best of all, have fun with your period - Lunapads compliment a wardrobe, making menstrual pads and panty-liners a form of personal expression and fashion - just the way it should be.
