PerformanceA single Pad will get you through an entire day of your cycle; just change your Liner as needed. Liners will last approximately as long (per use) as a comparably-sized disposable pad or tampon. Unlike most disposable pads, Lunapads do not contain any added chemicals, gels, or super absorbent polymers. Given this, Lunapads users need to be mindful of changing the Liner insert as frequently as their flow dictates in order to prevent soaking through the Pad. Frequent changing of the Liners significantly enhances the comfort and performance of the Pad.
Lunapads will last upwards of 5 years with recommended usage and care.
Lunapads can be washed by hand or machine in any temperature with your regular detergent. Pre-soaking or rinsing in cold water prior to washing is recommended (but not always necessary) particularly if the pads are heavily saturated. Please note that if Lunapads are being soaked, soaking water must be changed daily.
We recommend natural cleaning products such as Nellie’s All Natural Laundry Soda for regular cleaning, and Buncha Farmers Stain Remover to perk up stained Lunapads. Heavily stained Pads, Liners or Pantyliners may also benefit from occasional machine wash and dry in hot settings or air drying in direct sunlight.
Please avoid the use of chlorine bleach or fabric softeners to clean Lunapads, as this will decrease the performance of the products and is harmful to the environment.
Wrap the Pad around the gusset of your underwear and close the snap to secure. The fleece panel should be facing up (towards your body on the inside of the panty), as this is the most absorbent part of the pad. Incorrect placement may result reduced comfort and performance of the Pad.
Liners can be added as desired by inserting the ends under the ric-rac bands on the Pad. Multiple Liners may be used for increased absorbency. Pads can be refreshed as desired by removing and replacing the Liner(s). Please note that Liners are not intended to be worn without a Pad.

I finally started my period and am using my lunapads. I must say, I love them even more that I thought I would!!! They are so soft and comfortable. They feel just like your regular panties to me. I take birth control so I know exactly when my period starts. The day I was supposed to start, I just put on a lunapad pantyliner. That way I was covered before I even started. I would have never wanted to do that with a disposable pad- too uncomfortable! The care is not hard either. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Lunapads!!! (Posted on 9/23/11)
When I decided to switch to cloth pads, I decided to quit cold turkey. That meant I needed to get enough pads right away to cover my first period without disposables. I highly recommend this kit for that purpose. This kit is great for people who are paranoid about coverage. I have had bad experiences with leaks before, so I tend to use a larger pad even when I may not need it. This kit lets me get through a light first day, two nights, three heavy days and another light day. I supplemented this kit with another long pad and a moon pad bag for carrying. I suggest buying some extra liner inserts as well (I bought two sets for the maxi pads and one set for the minis). Wish I'd gotten mine later though, since I like the newer fabrics better than some of the ones I got! (And now that I have so many pads, no reason to buy any more =( ) The product itself absorbs well. The first time I used a lunapad was for overnight, using a Long pad, and I leaked everywhere. I don't know why because since that first pad I haven't had ANY leaking problems. I like being able to double up the liner inserts when I'm going to be out for awhile - gives me peace of mind. The pads do shrink a bit in the wash, and the stitching on some of the liner inserts isn't perfect, but overall I am very pleased with this kit. (Posted on 9/17/11)
I am just getting into the whole cloth pad thing. I never even knew cloth pads were an option until recently. My initial reaction was the "ewww!" factor that every one talks about. But the more research I did, the better it sounded. I started researching my different options and realized that lunapads were for me. I went with the deluxe kit because I thought that it would suit my needs the best. I think that the deluxe kit will be enough for my whole cycle. I haven't actually.used them yet so I will update once I have used them. They arrived very quickly and are very cute! I chose "surprise me" and received a nice assortment of colors. They feel very soft and I think I am going to love using them. Disposables are very irritating and I am willing to bet that lunapads feel as comfy as your favorite Indies. :) (Posted on 9/15/11)
I was unsure whether or not to buy Lunapads but I am so glad I took the plunge and this kit was the perfect choice to get started with! I was worried that there wouldn't be enough pads in it since I thought I had a pretty heavy, almost unmanageable, flow (since I started using my Lunapads I've actually realized that my flow is a lot lighter than I thought) but after ordering a few extra liners, I couldn't imagine a better kit than this one. For an average to heavy flow this kit is perfect and saves a lot of money. The pads are so comfortably soft - no more plastic bunching and crunching! After you pop this in your cart I would recommend picking out a few extra liners and a moon pad bag just so that you're all set when mother nature reminds you of how awesome it is to be a woman. Oh, and I went with the assorted colored fabrics - they are all so much fun I couldn't bring myself to stop at only having one (and don't worry - they do a great job of representing all their cute designs)! Trust me, not only will you love Lunapads and this kit because it's good for the environment, you'll love it because they are so great for you! (Posted on 2/5/11)
