At Lunapads we have been using and selling menstrual cups for close to a decade, and have talked to literally hundreds of women about their experiences using them. The DivaCup is a product that we believe in and know to be a fantastic tampon alternative that will make most women who try it very, very happy. Here’s the quick story on what you need to know. For more in-depth information, please consult our DivaCup FAQ, Testimonials and How-To Guide.
The DivaCup is a small, internally-worn, medical-grade hypoallergenic silicone cup that collects, rather than absorbs, your menstrual flow.
The DivaCup offers all the convenience of tampons (no bulk or chafing, making it great for sports) without the expense (find out exactly how much you’ll save here), waste (no more tampons in the garbage), dryness (who hasn’t felt a bit uncomfortable taking out a tampon towards the end of their cycle?). Plus, you don’t need to change it as often (leave your DivaCup in for up to 12 hours!), and no more last-minute trips to the drugstore!
The DivaCup is cleared for marketing with the U.S. FDA and holds a current Health Canada license, and has never been associated with Toxic Shock Syndrome.
Fold your DivaCup using one of 2 techniques: the “U” (image Left), or “Push Down” (image Right). Insert and rotate slightly to ensure that there is a slight seal that has formed (this will minimize leaks). Leave it in for up to 12 hours, remove and empty it, then wash or rinse and re-insert. Complete instructions for cleaning the DivaCup are included in every package.
L: the "U" fold. R: the "Push Down" fold.
