PerformanceA single Pad will get you through an entire day of your cycle; just change your Liner as needed. Liners will last approximately as long (per use) as a comparably-sized disposable pad or tampon. Unlike most disposable pads, Lunapads do not contain any added chemicals, gels, or super absorbent polymers. Given this, Lunapads users need to be mindful of changing the Liner insert as frequently as their flow dictates in order to prevent soaking through the Pad. Frequent changing of the Liners significantly enhances the comfort and performance of the Pad.
Lunapads will last upwards of 5 years with recommended usage and care.
Lunapads can be washed by hand or machine in any temperature with your regular detergent. Pre-soaking or rinsing in cold water prior to washing is recommended (but not always necessary) particularly if the pads are heavily saturated. Please note that if Lunapads are being soaked, soaking water must be changed daily.
We recommend natural cleaning products such as Nellie’s All Natural Laundry Soda for regular cleaning, and Buncha Farmers Stain Remover to perk up stained Lunapads. Heavily stained Pads, Liners or Pantyliners may also benefit from occasional machine wash and dry in hot settings or air drying in direct sunlight.
Please avoid the use of chlorine bleach or fabric softeners to clean Lunapads, as this will decrease the performance of the products and is harmful to the environment.
Wrap the Pad around the gusset of your underwear and close the snap to secure. The fleece panel should be facing up (towards your body on the inside of the panty), as this is the most absorbent part of the pad. Incorrect placement may result reduced comfort and performance of the Pad.
Liners can be added as desired by inserting the ends under the ric-rac bands on the Pad. Multiple Liners may be used for increased absorbency. Pads can be refreshed as desired by removing and replacing the Liner(s). Please note that Liners are not intended to be worn without a Pad.

I am new to cloth menstrual pads & I just learned about these, how wonderful! Wish I knew of them earlier! I am spreading the word-these are the next best thing! Customer service is amazing, they are genuinely happy to help and quick to respond. I would recommend to wash them separately from clothing just for the first wash as I found lint spread. I am ordering a second kit in organic, just to keep clean ones handy in case. Didn't realize until I got them that I should've ordered the wing extenders. They are well made, super soft and comfortable! They don't have an odour like plastic pads do. As a previous reviewer said, they come wrapped with love. Compared to other similar products online, these were the best in price, quality, ease of use and even fun in colors! Cheers to enjoy being a modern day woman with this natural living option! Love, love these! Thanks Lunapads! (Posted on 11/10/11)
I was very skeptical when I saw an ad for Lunapads on the back of Bitch magazine about a year ago. I trend toward green things, but this sounded a little icky. After reading a lot of the statistics about disposable menstrual products and also the non-FDA-regulated manufacturing conditions I decided to give cloth pads a try. I ordered the heavy flow started kit, a moonpad bag, and a diva cup kit with mini panty liners. After just one period I was hooked. I'll never go back to disposables ever again. Lunapads are so soft and comfortable. They feel warm and cozy, never cold and sticky or wet. They conform to my body without sticking and don't crinkle when I move. I used to always notice the gross smell of disposable pads but I am happy to say that I have not had any unpleasant odors with my Lunapads. Of course the bright colors and fun patterns are another plus. Since switching to Lunapads I've had consistently fewer and less intense cramps and shorter periods. I love Lunapads! I just got my starter kit and I adore it! The fabric is so comfortable and soft - way nicer to wear than the plastic disposable ones. Plus it's so much nicer having a cute pad that celebrates my period than an impersonal clinical disposable. I love my lunapads and won't go back to the throw-away kind! (Posted on 2/5/11)
I have been wanting to try cloth pads for years, but there was always a reason to wait a bit longer...I have finally purchased them! I decided to go with Lunapads because of the cute fabrics and competitive prices. I was so excited to when my pads came, I couldn't wait for my period to start (yes, seriously!) I made the right choice! Ever since that first trial almost 2 months ago, I have been telling all of my female friends and family that these pads are like a pillow for the vagina! (They really are!) I even convinced my mother she simply must try them, and she made an order just last night! The Heavy Flow Starter Kit is the perfect kit to start out on. I think I may need to order one more, now that there are new fabrics...and I do have a long period. I just adore this product! Lunapads - I am hooked! (Posted on 2/5/11)
