There are so many ways our customers have been positively affected by Lunapads, that we've broken them down into categories. Read on to find out what our customers have to say about us.
"Just to let you know that this arrived today! Thank you very much. I have been thrilled to bits with my Lunapads. When I first decided to switch from disposable pads to cloth ones, I bought samples from four or five companies, since designs and materials seemed to vary so much. Lunapads were so outstandingly more comfortable and absorbent and practical than other pads that I am gradually retiring the others from use. They have made the whole business of menstruation less something to be endured and more something to be enjoyed! I am profoundly grateful that I no longer have to endure the discomfort of disposables." - Hayley
"Yeah!! Every time I receive a package from Lunapads, it is like having a birthday present sent to myself. I am so thrilled! I know that I must be crazy when I get excited about a menstrual product. Lunapads make having periods fun!" – Susan M.
"I just wanted to tell you, I purchased my first set of Lunapads in January 2002, and I'm never going back. I've tried other reusable/washable pads, but Lunapads are much softer, they wash better, and they're more absorbent. It was great not to notice liquid staying on top of the pad when I'd go to change the liner, the fleece actually ABSORBED. I am so glad I switched to Lunapads-they're a vast improvement on the other types of pads (both disposable and washable) that I've tried. Thanks, Lunapads!" - Tiffanie B.
"Just wanted to let you know how much I LOVE Lunapads. They are working great for me. I do think they are a little more pricy than some of the ones I got off ebay, But I also think they will last longer. They are VERY well made. Thanks Again!" - Laurie H.
"I also have to rave about the Lunapads as well. I was so impressed with the mini Lunapad I received, I purchased more Lunapads of various sizes to use at night when I was soaking my Diva Cup to clean it. Their construction is rock solid and the flannel is soft and cheerful so they look brand new, even after a year's worth of use. The cleaning issue is also much less inconvenient than I expected. I use a decorative ice bucket with a lid as a soaking pot, change the water daily, and add some peppermint liquid soap purchased from the local organic food store. When wash time comes, just pop them in the washer and dryer in a lingerie bag. If you think about it, it's really not very much different than messing with underwear or clothing that has gotten stained from when conventional protection methods fail. Anyways, I wanted to thank you again for such making such awesome products! I look forward to doing business with you again."- Lynn J.
"I just wanted to take a moment to write 'thank you' for your outstanding business. I placed an order to try your product, then after an e-mailed discussion with a friend out of the country, placed a second order so she could try Lunapads as well. You were nice enough to combine the orders without me even asking in order to save me some money on shipping, a kindness that was wholly unexpected. Then, my order arrived three business days after I placed it! I was instantly enamored with Lunapads. They're soft, comfortable; I feel much more relaxed and confident while using them as compared to disposable pads. They're about as bulky as a standard (as opposed to ultra-thin) disposable, but infinitely more wearable given the plush fabric, breathability, and the fact that they stay put and don't get wadded up and wander. I also ordered a cloth pad from one of your competitors to try, and was significantly disappointed. Their product struck me as so dowdy; it had a 'look at me, I'm being a martyr for the environment' vibe going for it, rather than the fun and flirty 'I'm doing this for me' feel of Lunapads. Though Lunapads may cost a couple dollars more, I wouldn't think of ordering any more from that other company. I've just placed another order; keep up the good work." - Hillary O.
"Just wanted to drop you a note and tell you how great I think my Lunapads are. I was really surprised at how absorbent the pads are, and I love the fact that they don’t hold moisture close to your body, very much unlike plastic pads. And best of all, I feel like I'm doing the landfills a favor when I toss my pads in with my laundry every month. Thanks!" - Laura S.
"I first came across Lunapads and other washable menstrual pad products on the internet a couple of months ago while looking for an alternative to the regular plastic pads. My reasons had nothing to do with the environment, and everything to do with some irritations I had been getting during my periods for quite a while. The fact that it will save me money in the long run was a plus as well. Why did I choose Lunapads over others? Because they're prettier. Others were plain, without the colorful designs. They looked somewhat provincial, and Lunapads were the only ones that made me smile when I looked at them. Since I started using Lunapads, I have noticed several of the same positives as others have mentioned; the convenience of not having to run to the store when I start menstruating, the softness and breathability of the pads relative to plastic pads, and the fact that they actually do the job they're made to do. But I also noticed a few things missing since my purchase. The painful irritation no longer exists, the itching I had been getting is gone. And I recently realized something else was missing: the odor I used to get during menstruation. All this time I thought I just smelled bad, and now I realize it wasn't me! If someone had told me six months ago that in such a short time, I would feel better physically and emotionally by using Lunapads, I wouldn't have believed it. But now that I've tried Lunapads, and I know how it has changed the experience of menstruation for me, I would encourage anyone to try them. My biggest problem now is that you keep coming up with more products that I keep thinking I want. And every time I see a new design, I want to buy more! I'm addicted to buying washable pads!" - Donna, NY
"I am so, so, so happy with Lunapads! I had been considering this for a while, put aside some money, and went ahead and splurged for myself on a Deluxe Kit of mixed prints. They arrived last week just in time for me to give them a try, and I am hooked. They're so comfortable and handy, and, gosh darn it, they're pretty and fun! The large laundry bag is just the right size for storing the deluxe kit, and it makes it a handy (and neat) way to keep the pads and liners ready to go. I really appreciate the effort you ladies have gone to in order to make this a great and well-thought-out alternative to disposables. The organic hankie that you tucked in was a great bonus, and I plan on keeping it tucked in my purse or in my sweater pockets - it won't shred and shed all over the place like Kleenex do! Thank you again so much for this great product - I'm kicking myself for not investing in Lunapads sooner, but looking forward to many, many years of using them!" - Lindsey S.
"I think that you are fab! I bought some Lunapads quite a while ago and have never regretted buying them. I am hoping that I can persuade other women to try them and see how good they are. Thank you for a great product that makes a difference in the environment. With love, light and blessings from England." - Alison H.

"I just wanted to let you know how happy I am with your product! It is so nice to not have to buy expensive disposable pads, just to throw them out right away! Lunapads are so soft and comfortable, and I love the fact that the liners are on the top, it makes it so easy to change. During my last period, I had to go back to disposables one day while my lunapads were in the wash, it was horrible. I can never go back! I've just ordered another deluxe mini pad set because they are the perfect size for me, I'm also excited to try your new slender mini. (thanks for the free liner) Thanks again and keep up the great work!" - Melodie F.
"Thank you for such a wonderful product! I am relieved to finally find a responsible alternative menstrual product for my cycle. Last month, I had to throw away a disposable pad. It made me feel sick! Never again. Lunapads are so comfortable. And washing them is so easy! I only wish I'd found you sooner. Thank you!" - Rebecca J.
"A belated thank-you for your helpful response to my query earlier in the month. I also wanted to let you know that I am REALLY impressed by the comfort and ease of using Lunapads, and have ordered some extra pads to bulk out my 'deluxe set' (plus I am recommending them to all my friends). Already I can't imagine going back to disposables! THANK YOU for making a significant contribution to this woman's self-respect!" - Helen M.
"You have a great product whose time has certainly come. I found Lunapads while I was on holiday in Victoria, BC, after having looked in many places for some time for such a product. Thank you for all your innovation and your commitment to offering women something different than disposable, toxic products." - Peggy J.
"Thank you so much for Lunapads! No more yucky disposable pads that make me feel all sticky and gross. The cotton feels so nice - like wearing regular underwear. When my daughter comes of age, this will be the first pad I give her." - Nicole S.
"Just wanted to let you know that I have used my Lunapads twice now and I love the feel of cloth. I'm never touching disposables again! It is also a lot easier to care for them than I thought as well! I have been telling women here in Australia about Lunapads and handing out your brochures. Hopefully more people will start to think about it and switch." - Rebecca B.
"I just wanted to write and tell you how much I love my Lunapads! d I received them right before the start of my period, so I was happy to try them out right away, and they are great! What I love most is the softness; I always found disposables so scratchy. I also love that there is no odour at all, another thing I hated about disposables. Once again, thank you for a fantastic product, I will definitely be ordering from you again!" - Christina V.
"To all the women at Lunapads, Thanks! I just received my panty liners in the mail yesterday and I am thrilled! I have used the Diva cup for a year now and have always backed it up with disposable liners. I hate that they are plastic-y feeling and don't stick to my underwear, only to my body. Your liners are so much nicer! They are so soft I hardly notice them, and they are so pretty!" -Andrea H.
"Lunapads may have saved me years of major discomfort. I developed eczema of the "you-know-where area" after my pregnancy, and despite multiple trips to my family doctor and dermatologist, (and extended use of strong cortisone & other creams), the eczema kept coming back! I discovered by trail-and-error the rash was caused (for me) by using disposable pads and liners! Now, using the Lunapads, my eczema is gone! Wow! I also discovered that disposable liners were causing a strange and unpleasant odour... but that has completely gone using Lunapads! Amazing! I wish I had tried Lunapads sooner!" - Natasha L.
"I got my period a little over a week ago and I was so excited to use my new Lunapads! All I can say is what a night and day difference it was to actually have comfort wearing pads!!! For many years I was a tampon user but in 1997 I developed a condition called Vulvodynia/Vulvar Vestibulitis. It's a very painful vulvar condition where the vulvar vestibule (tissue and vestibular glands surrounding the vaginal opening) becomes chronically inflamed and irritated. You could only imagine that when this intimate part of your body becomes very tender and painful - the last thing you want to do is put a rough, plastic disposable pad down there!! I could no longer wear tampons due to this condition because they now irritated me so I had to switch to pads which I must say, really irritated me so much so that by the end of second day of my period, I had to remove them and simply bleed on my underwear!! Well I cannot tell you enough how wonderful it is to use Lunapads!!! They feel like I'm j ust wearing underwear and I now look forward to once again having comfortable periods! I also notice less odor wearing Luna pads then when I used disposable pads? That was a pleasant surprise as well. Thanks again for an incredible product!!! I'll be using Lunapads for many years to come!!!" - Debra A.
"I have to say, I never thought I'd be writing a fan letter about menstrual products, but, you know, times change. A little less than a week ago I developed — very suddenly — a really horrible skin allergy to the plastics used in disposable menstrual pads. Seriously, it was terrible. Not just a diaper-rashy sort of dermatitis, but "ow" doesn't even begin to cover it. I'd been meaning to get around to ordering some Lunapads at some point, based on recommendations from a couple of friends (Emira and Heather, primarily), but hadn't quite gotten there. But cooling my jets lying on a doubled-up old bathtowel while I waited for the excruciating allergic symptoms to go away, I fired up my laptop and placed a great big order all at once, because there was just no way I was ever going to go near my disposable plastic welt-and-blister-inducing monsters again. I figured I'd be riding out the rest of this period with old washcloths safety-pinned into my underwear, and actually that worked out pretty well. But imagine my pleased surprise when my Lunapads order showed up a mere four business days after I ordered it! I was *thrilled* and began using them right away. I'm still thrilled. So are my girly bits, which are breathing a big sigh of relief at knowing they won't be forced into proximity with anything that'll give them welts and blisters again. Thanks for the great product and the fabulous service. You rock like rocking things that rock very, very hard indeed." - Hanne B.
"I just wanted to let you know how much I love Lunapads. Over the years, I've become allergic to something they put in most paper pads and pantyliners, and wearing them was like torture for me. Not only did I have to put up with the smell and icky feel of the plastic pad that was supposed to be "like cotton," but I also had itchiness and pain. No fun! Finding Lunapads was a wonderful experience and I love wearing them. I feel like I'm doing something nice for myself during that time of the month. Plus, there is less smell and MORE comfort. Unlike plastic pads and liners that can make you feel like you're wearing a diaper, you barely notice that you're wearing a Lunapad. Thanks for making such a great product! I don't what I would do without you! Sincerely, Jennifer Lawley I just wanted to write you to tell you how much I have enjoyed my Lunapads! I am currently enrolled in an Enacted Feminist Theory course at the University of South Alabama, and we had been talking about Inga Muscio's book, Cunt, which has a few blurbs in it about your company. I used to have serious problems with rashes when I used pads for a prolonged period of time, but the Lunapads kept me dry, they didn't rub up against my thighs and they were so easy to change and clean! I'm looking forward to ordering again soon, and until then, I'll keep spreading the word!" - Ann E.
"I know you hear this a lot, but I love your products! You have turned that dreaded "time of the month" into something I almost look forward to so that I can use my Lunapads. I also ordered a Diva Cup from you, and I love that I can insert it in the morning and not have to worry about anything until the end of the day. I admire you and your company so much for giving women another choice!" – Hilarie S.
"I've been using Lunapads since the beginning of the year and finally decided to send in my testimonial for your website. :-) I started out with the Diva Cup + Mini Lunapad kit, as I loved the idea of reusable sanitary items, but needed a discreet option since I carry a tiny purse and don't have enough room for a full day's Lunapads. The Diva cup fits my needs perfectly! It is wonderful to go for hours at work leading a normal life and not have any worries about my protection! I am also one of those lucky gals whose bend-you-in-half cramps disappear with the cup too. Hurray!"
"Just wanted to let you know how pleased I was with my Lunapads and Diva Cup. I saw an exhibition in summer about how long our trash takes to biodegrade in landfill and was totally horrified that my junk would be around longer than me or my grandchildren, that's what made me want to change. The surprise bonus was that despite having terrible- stay in bed with a hot water bottle- menstrual pain every month, with the Diva cup and Luna Pads I had none. Absolutely none . I usually spend four days loaded up with Pamprin (and I hate taking painkillers) but I was totally drug free.Oh, and the poodle print? What can I say! Thank you very much!" - Caroline B.
"I am just amazed! Today is my first day using Lunapads and I couldn't be happier. My only regret is that I didn't discover them sooner. I have suffered with such heavy bleeding - for many, many years, especially during the first couple of days of my period and today was day One - and my flow was very light. I was at work and nervous that it'd soak through so I kept checking my lunapad - every couple of hours - not knowing if it would hold up and I had no problems. And they are the most comfortable pad I've ever worn - I don't even feel it. With disposable pads, I would go through 3 to 4 maxi pads a day. Today, I wore a full size lunapad with the additional insert and really, I didn't need all that. I didn't even soak through the extra insert. And no odor - certainly nothing like I had with disposables. Amazing. The reason that I decided to try Lunapads is because I've been having such problems with disposables in the last couple of years. By day 3 of my cycle, I would become sore & irritated and would even get a rash from them. I knew that there had to be a better way. And I'm so happy to have found it! I've been liberated. I can't wait to pass the wonderful news on to my friends. Did I mention that this is amazing? Thank you, thank you, thank you." - Karen W.
"I just received an order of Lunapads a couple of weeks ago, and I could not wait to get my period. Now, I am halfway through my former "week of dread," and I couldn't wait until the end of the week to let you gals know how awesome you and your products are! At first, when I heard about washable menstrual pads, I was just weirded out. Then I thought about all of the benefits, and figured, "Why not?" I am SO glad I got over my initial feelings and tried them, because there is no way I could ever go back to disposables. I feel so much better about myself as a woman and about how I am helping the environment by not adding my pads to the landfill. I love all of your fabrics and colors, and I was amazed at how comfortable the Lunapads are! Thank you for creating such a wonderful product. I keep telling my husband how happy I am, but I don't think he really understands! I have already emailed all of my friends (who probably think I am insane for raving about a pad), and I hope they take the plunge like I did." - Marleah A.
"I just wanted to say that your products are wonderful. I have never been comfortable using tampons, and the plastic-y pads always seem to get sticky, wet, and, well, gross. I place a great value on being comfortable, and having a fleecy Lunapad next to my skin instead of a sticky piece of bleached plastic and adhesive is super. I was really nervous about using it the first time -- I was especially nervous about an odor. (I'm not sure why I thought cotton would smell more than plastic...) But I was pleased to find that there is actually less odor --- in fact, I never notice an odor at all anymore. With regular pads, this was always an issue. Which leads me to my next comment -- I feel so much healthier using Lunapads. I read one testimonial where a customer described "bleeding less when using Lunapads" and I have to say I've noticed that as well. It really confirms my belief that the toxicity of regular pads is harmful to our bodies and cycles. Furthermore, I love that I am no longer contributing so much garbage to the world. It's such a great feeling. Pretty much my only wish is that lunapads didn't stain so easily -- but as you say, it *is* blood, and I use the cream-colored organic ones exclusively. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your products. In fact, I just placed another huge order so I don't have to wash lunapads in the middle of my cycle." - Karen M.
"It first occurred to me to use cloth pads as I anticipated the birth of my first son. I knew I wanted to use cloth diapers both for environmental reasons and to avoid the chemicals and bleaches on his tender skin. If I wanted to protect his tender skin, what about my own? I got some cheap cloth pads I had to pin on and they worked ok, but were a hassle. I discovered Lunapads just before the birth of my second son and I decided to splash out and get the organic deluxe kit for my postpartum. I LOVED them. So easy, so luxuriously soft and comfortable on my tender perineum. As a registered midwife, I've had a number of clients who have experienced intense discomfort, itching and swelling after using standard disposable pads after the birth of their baby. Many times their symptoms have disappeared after switching to cloth pads. I now introduce the idea of cloth pads during my discussion of preparations for postpartum. The idea is natural for anyone considering cloth diapers. For those considering cloth, I recommend Lunapads." Ann Liebau - Registered Midwife
"I am writing to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for your product. I have been using Lunapads for about 6 months now, and they are so wonderful. My period can vary immensely from month to month, and I have had no problems with these pads, nor have I had any night leaks. I particularly enjoy the experience of washing and caring for them; it's amazing how much this process changes the period experience. I bought them as a gift for myself, something I rarely do, and they keep on giving in those moments of purposeful self-care. Thank you, thank you! All the best to you!" - Mandy F.
"Initially I was a little skeptical about your products, but after receiving a Lunapad from a friend I am now a believer. The Lunapad provided me security and comfort during my cycle. The best thing is, I can share this with my girlfriend. Thank you!" - Briley C.
"I recently bought my first Starter Kit of organic Lunapads. I am a Registered Aromatherapist and I truly must say I have never been more delightfully impressed with any experience with a feminine product. I have been so moved by my personal experience since using Lunapads that I have recommended them to all my clients, and am now retailing them in my own clinic. In my practice I often see women who are suffering from complications from using scented and bleached feminine hygiene products. The best part about Lunapads, I tell my clients, you purchase what you need for your menses, and that’s it for 3-5 years. I had one client the other day tell me she has had hers for more than 10 years now! For some clients it is a bit difficult to adjust to the concept of washing menstrual pads, but truly, is it any different from changing diapers, or washing your undergarments after a mishap? Just throw them in with your towels, and that’s it. Thanks for sharing your vision with me. I wish you the best in transforming our world, and our experience as women." - Julie B.
"Lunapads are so good. I could never have believed it. No "nappy-rash", no horrible smells, only wonderful comfort. I only have one problem - what to do with the 2 packs of disposables I bought before my Lunapads arrived. I cannot even bear to think about using them now." - Jody W.
"I wanted to tell you how much I love Lunapads! I'm going to give them to my friends as gifts! I never thought I would be so into the cool colors and patterns, I pretty much say to myself "Hmmm...do I feel like the french poodle or cat woman today?" They are great! What a wonderful thing to do for yourself and the planet! Yay Lunapads!" - Elizabeth N.
"I happened to walk in to Capers in Vancouver to ask where I could buy washable pads.... yay! I am so happy to have found Lunapads! I'm having my first comfortable period ever. What a relief!" Kate H.
"I am using my new Lunapads for the first time this week, and I wanted to drop you a quick thank you. The mini-pads are my favorite (love that changeable liner!!), but I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable even the larger pads are!! I have always had problems with vaginal irritation while using disposables, but that doesn't seem to be an issue with my Lunas. In recent months, my period has, for several reasons, been a source of stress and frustration, but getting to use my soft, pretty new pads has really lifted my spirits and helped me to feel better about my body. " - Helen B.
"I purchased a set of Lunapads as a divorce gift for myself and I am ABSOLUTELY thrilled with my purchase. I keep a bucket of cold water on a shelf above my washer and throw the dirty pads in until my cycle is done. The whole process could not be easier. In fact I recently went out of town overnight and simply used the nylon bag for the soiled pads. They wash up beautifully and they are far more fun than blue plastic pads. I have passed the information on to many girlfriends. One girlfriend has taken her kids to the local water treatment plant and said the amount of supposedly biodegradable tampons were astounding. This only confirmed that my purchase was a great choice. I will continue to pass the information on to friends. I'm sorry that I wasn't aware of Lunapads after the birth of my sons. You have a loyal lifetime customer." - Jodi S.
"I didn't even wait for your reply before ordering 2 of the Mini Pads. I've been wearing them now for a few days and it is amazing! As soft as the incontinence liners are, the Lunapads are even softer. No abrasive paper feeling. I'm hooked! I just ordered 5 more so I'll have one a day. Thank you!" All the best, Amy B.
"I took the dive and ordered a couple. It wasn't three weeks that I was back on the website ordering more. I have been through three cycles with them and I am so glad that I ordered them. I feel that I am doing something good for my body and for the environment. It is no problem to wash them. I rinse them, then let them soak and throw them in the machine. No problem! I read a couple of testimonies where women have said that they feel more in tune with their bodies and their cycles after using them. I can definitely agree with that now. Lunapads are soft and comfortable. They don't irritate my skin like the disposable ones did. I couldn't wait till the end of my period because my skin was so irritated. I don't have that problem with the cloth pads. I have found it helpful that if I am going to be somewhere for a longer period of time without access to a bathroom to change the liner, I just wear two liners and it helps prevent leaks. Thank you for your wonderful product and for letting women take control and decide what they want for their bodies and their environment." - Maureen N.
"Your company is something I wish every woman could take advantage of and use these wonderful products. Reading cunt: A Declaration of Independence is something that I do now on a regular basis, it’s like my bible of sorts! I have now wanted to start my own group of women that can get together and talk about important issues that we have in common and experience everyday. It has inspired me that much. I have also just learned to be proud of myself as a woman. I am 23 years old, single, no kids, working a full-time job, and have finally learned that I am not an ugly person, that my period is not a curse, that I have a purpose. Your company and philosophy has contributed to that. Now, my only problem is that I still have a couple of packs of unused disposable pads. Thank you so much again!" - Ariane T.
"After three decades of bleeding, and birthing three babies, I am so happy to have found Lunapads. I am using them for the first time this week and feel so self sufficient. As I rinse them, I think, I am releasing all the old energy from the past month and making way for the new. I like being more aware and in touch with my cycle and with what is actually happening in my body. I hope that my experience will outshine the media’s push of synthetic, numbing products when it comes time for my daughter’s need. Thanks again, I am recommending your product to all my friends. And I love the patterns, they stroke my girly side." - Renee S.
"Dear Angels at Lunapads, I received my order from you in record time, and actually cried when I opened the package. My Lunapads are beautiful. I am moved that someone took the time to think out and craft something so perfectly suited for my body. The pads are a joy to care for. They're no chore whatsoever to wash; it provides me with some much-needed time to reflect. Most importantly, they feel and work great! As I mentioned before, they are beautifully designed. Perfect. This entire Lunapads experience has really been like a second, healed version of menarche. How many women get this chance, I wonder? You can be sure that I'll spread the word to the women I love – Lunapads are the best. A thousand thanks, and keep up the good work!" Anonymous in Philadelphia
"I opened my package from you just moments ago, and I just had to write and thank you. Everything was wrapped so beautifully that I felt like I was opening up a present--I didn't even want to tear the tissue paper; it seemed kinda sacred or something. :) You really made everything feel so personal--from one woman to another in honor of her cycle. Much better than the response I got at age 15 when I told my mom I had gotten my period for the first time: "Oh, that's why you've been breaking out this week." I now actually feel excited to get my period so I can try out your products. And I am even more excited not to have to wear pads and tampons anymore, which my body simply does not like. I got through my last period by telling myself that it might be the last time I'd have to wear uncomfortable disposables for a long time (or ever.)" - Jazmine G.
"I recently received my starter kit of Lunapads. What can I say? I feel so empowered! While I'm concerned about waste and about landfills, I think what has me most giddy is the knowledge that I am no longer "dependent" upon the industry that creates disposable feminine products. Does that sound bizarre? And I love the fabrics -- such fun and pretty prints. Thanks!" - Mary C.
"I cannot tell you how much of a relief it is to not be ashamed of leaving disposables at friends houses, buying products at a store, or feeling ashamed of the noises changing a disposable makes. In short, having my period is something I feel I am in control of. I don't have to leave a trail of evidence anymore, so I have nothing to be ashamed about. I have told my mom and sister about your products, and should I ever have a daughter, she will be brought up on Lunapads and a Diva Cup. Thank you for your wonderful products, website, staff and vision!" - Samantha
"I just wanted to write a note to thank you so much for your wonderful products. I have tried almost all of them. I love the cloth pads, they are so comfortable - and comforting, too - and I was never even a person who wore pads. I've never had more comfortable, more natural periods. I've been using these products for over a year, and have tried to get all the women in my family and all my girlfriends to try them too. It's just a wonderful thing to have products that are better for the environment and for my body - and make me feel in touch with my cycle. I cannot thank you enough!!" - Caryn L.
"I had originally switched to cloth pads for environmental reasons, but to my surprise the greatest thing about using Lunapads for me was the way I felt using them...more feminine…more in control because I had made a choice to use something designed by women that didn’t make me feel like I was a baby who need to change my diaper every few hours. The experience is, dare I say enlightening? Anyway, I am pleased beyond belief and have spread the word to my female friends about your company and several of them are now making the switch. Thanks again and keep up the wonderful work!" - Candice F.
"I've never written anything like this before, but thank you for making these products available to women!! I can't tell you how wonderful my Lunapads and liners are. Since I switched, I hardly have any cramps, and I feel more in tune with my body. No more rashes from the disposable pads, or feeling dried out with tampons. I just wish I had heard of your company sooner! I am looking forward to placing my next order shortly." - Deirdre
"I thought that Lunapads would be tough to get used to. As I was reading the stories how the women felt more in touch with themselves after using these products, I didn't get it. But now I do. Who cares about your period?! Everyone gets it! Why have we all been made to feel so ashamed?!"
"I read the interview Madeleine did for the web-zine and I just want to say that I know how it feels when you know something and you want people to understand it. I am constantly telling myself that they just aren't ready and hope that they will be someday, and that they don't think of me as too crazy. Ha-ha! I've been changing a lot of things in my life and there's only a small handful of people who I can share it with. Anyway, it's just nice to know there are people out there like me. I can't thank you enough. I am liberated!!" - Tara S.
"I eagerly awaited this month's period after making a radical decision last month by ordering your products. I have not been more pleased with a product in my life. This morning my recently washed lunapads weren't dry so I had to use a disposable pad for the first time since using your products. The look of the pad was very disoncerting and felt unbearable. I am never going back to the wasteful ways of disposbale UNNATURAL pads. Not only do I feel more positive about my period now, but I feel so much better about my body too. I know it's cheesy, but Lunapads have changed a very important part of my life. Next on my list are the sea sponge tampons! I've never felt prouder to be a woman!" - Emma D.
for light flow as pantyliners...
"I've just got to say I am so impressed with your Maxi Pad... I have "tried one on" and am anxiously awaiting my next cycle to give them a more thourough test run. I use the Diva cup as I have always been more of a tampon gal, but like to use a pad as backup. In my disposable pad days I was always the one who was on the lookout for long length pantyliners (hard to find) so the length and thickness of your maxi is just perfect for this type of use, and the free extra liners allow me to use this pad on my lighter days and the diva cup on my more heavier days...or not use the liners and just have a nice long pantyliner that even though they are cloth you hardly know they are there! The colors are funky too! I have tried many other cloth pads and Lunapads are the best in quality and workmanship. Keep up the good work!" - Tina B.
"This is my second time buying from Lunapads, and I must say I LOVE your product. It's absolutely fantastic. I already use a Diva Cup but wanted to get some pantyliners as a back up and for light days. I am hooked! I absolutely hate disposable pads because they are so uncomfortable and make me itch, but Lunapads are awesome. They are very soft and very comfortable. I can't even feel them when I'm wearing them. I also love the cute patterns. I am recommending Lunapads to all my girlfriends and have put the flyers in public washrooms. Since I've discovered the Diva Cup and Lunapads, I actually enjoy getting my period." - Letty W.
"Hi there! Just wanted to drop in and say how much I appreciate having you around. I had always used pads and hated the way they stuck everywhere and irritated (especially when I was sweating). Now, even though Lunapads are more bulky than what I used before, they feel so much better next to my skin and the rest of my body is actually more comfortable overall after I've switched. The women I live with think that it's kind of gross that you have to wash out your own menstrual fluid, but I don't mind at all and it's worth it when I see that the trash can isn't completely filled up with my used pads. I've finally gotten a set of Lunapad Pantyliners because I'm the kind of gal who uses pantyliners every day and I didn't see the point in splurging for the cloth ones since they weren't as annoying as disposable pads. However, the irritation finally had me at the end of my rope and I bought a few to try out, and boy, what a difference it makes! I've now ordered a bunch more so I'll have one for every day of the week. :) I believe that Lunapads are totally worth the money, if not for you, at least for the environment." Thanks so much! - Anita C.
"I absolutely love your products! I have a very irregular and light cycle, and can go anywhere from 28 to 60 days. Before finding Lunapads, I went through so many extra packs of pantyliners, and I just cringe at how much I would spend a year on backup protection so I wouldn't be caught off guard. Lunapads took care of that, and are so easy to use. I've found that I only "use" one liner about every 4 hours, and can easily go overnight with two in place. If they get soiled I wash them lightly by hand before throwing them in with my laundry, because I share a laundry room with about 60 men. Unfortunately, my new habit has met a lot of resistance from my friends, some who think it's gross or unsanitary. After going on defense a few times, I've realized that most college age females like myself have been taught to hide their bodies and their natural functions and behave as if it's a nasty, bothersome thing. I proudly stack my giant pile of clean Lunapads on a stool in my bathroom for the world (or at least my friends) to see. Perhaps they'll get more used to the idea if they have to reach over them for the toilet paper. I just ordered a week set of new pantyliners, and I can't wait for them to get here!" - Anonymous
for heavy flow and post partum
"I just had to write and express my gratitude to you for taking so much time to help me complete my order. I was so impressed with the assistance, and I know that the products will exceed my expectations. Thanks again for promoting such a positive, meaningful set of products that support and educate women. I will be referring Lunapads to as many women as I can. I am so excited to put my Lunapads and Lunablanket to use after my baby’s birth!" - Carla P.
"I want to follow-up with you and let you know how wonderfully your products have served me. Thank you so much for giving me your suggestions! It really helped me decide what to get. I think I got j ust the right amount to fit my needs and lifestyle. Your Lunapads products are so fabulous for birthing and postpartum recovery! I got the Deluxe Kit with extra (my nursing-mush brain can't recall how many) liners, 4 Lunapanties, and 8 Lunablankets. I don't care to wear bulky pads, and the Lunapanties worked wonderfully with extra liners tucked in. My daughter was born on a bed lined with leopard Lunablankets - they're so much nicer than paper pads! In the days after her birth, I lounged on Lunablankets wherever I sat. At night, they where so soft to sleep on! Somehow, I didn't mind wearing those Long Pads in the beginning days postpartum, and the maxis in the days that followed (when I couldn't find a clean Lunapanty) - I think because I just loved the leopard pattern! My husband's jaw dropped the first time I walked in the room wearing my black Lunapanties. He sends his most sincere thanks. The Lunablankets are so fabulous for sleeping on when you're nursing. Sometimes the early nursing days can be a wet affair! My daughter and I would curl up in bed on a Lunablanket. If it got too wet I would j ust pull it off and replace it with a clean one. I've birthed four babies, and this was the most comfortable I've ever been postpartum. Not only were your products tender on my recovering body, but they were attractive, too. Thanks for helping to preserve this incredibly feminine and sexy period of my life! I'm about to order the Keeper, too. I'm delighted to support a business run by people who respond to email while their baby is sleeping!" - Joanne D.
"I began using The Keeper (now the Diva Cup) about a year and a half ago after hearing about it in Bitch magazine. At first, I found it very difficult to get used to and hard to put in, especially if I was too dry and it became a bit painful. I really, *really* wanted to give it a shot, though, as I knew the positive environmental impact would be huge, not to mention the money I'd save and the convenience it would afford me. Well, I went back to your website and read through the tips that were offered there, and kept trying. I've found that if I insert it in the shower, my body is just moist enough to make it easy. Otherwise, my own blood is enough to make insertion simple and comfortable! I also found that I was putting it much too high up and simply inserting it a bit lower did the trick. Anyway, needless to say I am a total convert and so happy that I've gotten into a rhythm with my Keeper! I would encourage anyone else who is considering alternative menstrual products -- or anyone currently having difficulty with the Diva Cup -- to keep at it and use the Cup regularly. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this changed my life! I now never have to worry about having tampons in my bag for *emergencies* and feel good knowing I'll never have to buy another pad or tampon in my life! Keep up the great work and all of us happy Keeper/Diva Cup users will keep spreading the word! (P.S. I also use Lunapads occasionally, but really more for fun because they feel like I'm wearing flannel pajamas all day. They're fantastic!)" - Rachel M.
"I have just had the opportunity to start using my second order of Lunapads and wanted to say thank you! My first order was the kit that came with a Diva Cup and the organic cotton mini pads. I got two other pads at that time. This time I ordered a starter kit to make sure that I have enough pads and liners for a week so that I don't have to rush to do laundry after just a few days. I am in love with not having to buy tampons and pads at Walmart. My friends must think I work for you because I am constantly raving about your products in my Livejournal. I have even gotten brave about talking about the forbidden topic of periods with neighbors, friends, and my sister. I have given out several copies of your flyers, and will have to ask for more again next time I order. I wish these things had been around when I was first starting my period. I look forward to having a daughter or niece one day who I can introduce these to one day! And I thought you may want to know, my sister is very interested in your product because she has applied for the Peace Corps and Lunapads and the Diva Cup are so much easier to pack than two years worth of the disposable pads and tampons! Once again, thank you!! I look forward to when you are able to carry extended sizes in Lunapanties, but until then I will continue to brag about how wonderful Luna Pads are compared to the store bought disposable versions." - Jennifer M.
"Today I received my second order from Lunapads, and I couldn't be happier. These pads have changed my life. I made my first order a little over a month ago, just ordering two pads to try them out for last month's period. To my complete amazement, it was the first nearly cramp-free period I have ever experienced in my life - and I've had my period for over ten years. Normally, I have the kind of cramps that leave me doubled over in my bed, crying in agony with a heating pad pressed to my belly. Not with the Lunapads - the rare cramps I did experience during those few days were almost unnoticeable. I had to wear a disposable pad during that same cycle while my Lunapads were in the wash, and was even more shocked when I began experiencing the familiar old searing cramps about a half hour after putting the disposable on. Perhaps it was a coincidence, perhaps it wasn't - either way, I've become convinced that disposable pads are toxic to our bodies and that I will never wear them again. Even aside from the blissful lack of cramps that I experienced with the Lunapads, I have *always* hated the amount of waste that disposable pads created, and the hassle of having to buy pads every month. Other benefits are, of course, the sheer comfort of the pads - the fabric is incredibly soft on my tender skin, and I honestly didn't even feel the pads while I was wearing them. I feel free, happy and healthy now that I've switched to Lunapads. I can't wait to try out all the different types of pads that Lunapads offers, and I will definitely be a return-customer for life. I'm actually *looking forward* to my period this month, instead of dreading it! Amazing! :) I must also mention how much I love the idea that Lunapads is a small company, comprised of women who can understand exactly the way I'm feeling. When I looked over the receipt of my first order and noticed that one of the gals had written 'Blessings!' in bright pink pen on my receipt, I somehow felt that I was being personally cared about :) What a wonderful product, a wonderful staff, a wonderful experience! I requested extra pamphlets with both of my orders and I'm going to start leaving them in women's public restrooms - every woman should switch to Lunapads! :) Blessings to all." - Jessica L.
"Thank you for sending the small Deluxe Lunapanties (replacement for xs) so quickly and in time to use for my period. This is the first month I've been using Lunapads and the Diva Cup, and so far I'm very happy with them. The Diva takes a bit of getting used to, but is more comfortable than a tampon, and an educational opportunity to measure my flow. The lunapads are so very comfortable. I hated using conventional pads and having plastic against such a sensitive part of my body. I'm actually experiencing my second cycle in over 3 years... I was using Depo Provera as birth control for 3 years, and did not have my period while the drug was in my system. It took almost a year once I was off Depo for my hormones to balance enough to have a cycle again. My overall experience with Depo was not as bad as some of the horror stories I've heard, but I did notice a few things I'd like to share. For one, I had never before had a fear of blood, but after not bleeding naturally for so long, I developed a queasy, almost an anxiety reaction when confronted with blood. Since the return of my cycle I no longer have this adverse reaction. Another thing I have noticed is how much more in touch with myself I feel - physiologically and emotionally - since beginning my cycle again. I am more balanced and seem to have less mood swings. I'm enjoying plotting my flow with the phases of the moon, and interested that I seem to have dropped right into a regular cycle that comes as the moon is waning to new. I am reading Womens' Bodies, Womens' Wisdom by Dr. Christine Northrup, which is a learning experience indeed. I feel empowered by my menstral cycle, and am happy to embrace my womenhood and celebrate the natural rhythms of my body. I believe that my choice to use Lunapads and the Diva Cup is an important step in caring for and respecting my body and the earth. Thank you for creating such a fine product. I will enjoy spreading the word." - Katrina K.
"I just finished reading your extensive testimonials page, and I was inspired to write about my experience with your products! I bought a keeper and a set of Lunapads about two years ago (I asked for them for Christmas!). The keeper was a bit of an adjustment at first, but I love it now and can't imagine buying a box of tampons. Now, if I am having difficulty with my keeper (which is rare, and usually dependent on my mood that day), I just throw on a lunapad instead. I love it. When I first received the keeper, I remember bringing it to my gynecologist appointment to see if he had any information on it, or if he had even ever heard of it. Of course he had not and was surprised to see such a thing exist! I was a little disappointed that a doctor (a gynecologist no less!) had never heard of this magnificant little thing called a keeper, and he didnt seem at all interested in it. His reaction, or lack there of, convinced me that he was a little too old school for me (especially after he started promoting this new birth control pill that eliminates your period entirely!ugh!), and I started hunting for a new doctor! I work at a drugstore and women ask me all the time about the menstrual products (especially mothers looking for their teenage daughters). I am always a little reluctant to give my opinion, being that they should avoid the whole fem care aisle. Usually I tell them to wait one moment, go to my locker in the back room and give them one of your pamphlets from a pile of them in my locker...I also work with an all girl staff and I am constantly lecturing about the dangers and faults of tampons and disposable pads. I have gotten a few of the younger girls off of tampons entirely and I hope to convince them to order form you. My manager probably wouldnt like that very much, but he hasnt made any attempt to order your products as a regular sale item at our store, regardless of the customer requests for a non-didsposable product. So those are two ways that lunapads have changed my life, aside from the many benefits of the products themselves of course, but you have already heard about how GREAT you are, right?!!" Veronica R.
"I'm a 23 year old student starting my first year in pharmacy school. It's a very busy academic program, and grocery shopping has become such a chore now, since it costs time and money. And when I'm busy using my time to study for my classes and trying to save as much money as I can for school, even everyday groceries are on a limited budget! One of the last things I need to think about is when and where to keep purchasing the disposable feminine products every month! Your washable Lunapads & the Keeper save me the hassle of another "emergency trip" to the nearest grocery store. I commend you on that! I wish that I had known about your products during my undergraduate studies. I just dreaded having to go to the local "Wallyworld" (which was usually very crowded), go to the "Aisle of Shame" (where I least wanted to run into anyone I knew), and try to pick out the "right kind" of disposable products for a good price (and know I had to do that again the next month). Although menstruation is a natural [female] bodily function, I did not want anyone to see me pick out or purchase those necessities. I would have to make sure the Aisle was perfectly clear before I looked & purchased. I also dreaded going to the check out counter (especially the express lane) with only those kinds of necessities (since the employees and others standing in line with me could guess what time it was for me). So I would usually impulsively buy several other things (most that I didn't need) in order to "mask" what I really needed to buy. Thanks to you & your wonderful washables/reusables, it's great to now stroll near that once-dreaded aisle of the grocery store, greatful that I am no longer a "slave" to the Aisle of Shame. It was much better shopping for your products in the "privacy" of your website! Before college, my mom was the one who bought my "monthly necessities". What works for a woman in her 40's who's given birth to 3 kids isn't always what works for her teenage virgin daughter. So she wouldn't always bring home the "right kind" of stuff for me, and would have to return to the store for more items. I no longer need to be at the mercy of what mom brings home, either! (Maybe my mom & younger ["coming of age"] sister would like to hear about your products.) I also remember how I could hear the crinkling/crackling sound when I walked while wearing some of my disposable pads (or I could at least feel it). And I would try to walk softer so as to make sure that I was the only one who could hear it. It's incredible--your products don't even make a sound! I apologize for being long-winded in this thank-you email, but I thought I would try to tell you of how you have changed other areas of my life that haven't been mentioned already in your other testimonials--although I agreed with so many of the others. Your company is very amazing to me. Thank you so very much!" - Robyn M.
"Thank you so much for the phone message. I wish I had been available to speak with you personally. It’s amazing that in a world of multi-national corporations that care more about their profits than their products, there are still people who take the time to make sure their customers are satisfied. I am a woman who is the exact opposite of the "type" you would expect to use Lunapads. I am not a naturalist or an environmentalist in any sense of the word, I don’t like to camp and I rarely travel. I am a young professional and a graduate student with a hectic schedule and a limited budget. I purchased a small set of Lunapads and a Keeper because I was interested in saving money — but I've discovered that the benefits go far beyond the financial savings. I had been using disposable menstrual cups for years, so the Keeper was easy to get used to. I expected the pads to be an adjustment, but they're wonderful — I've found that I feel better all through my cycle, especially at night. They are so comfortable and reliable that I actually forgot that I was even having a period on my lighter days! This is a big deal as the weather heats up where I live in the southern U.S. — the soft cotton fleece is fantastic when it starts to get humid. Also, I literally sleep better because I trust my menstrual products now. I had a special set of bedding that I called my "period sheets" because they were cheap and had been purchased for the specific purpose of hiding blood stains. I'm ready to throw them away now because I just don’t need them any more. In addition to sleeping more peacefully, I can work at my office all day and go to grad school at night with just my keeper and a mini pad. I never have to send my poor belabored husband to the grocery store at 11 PM to get disposable pads, and I can stop clipping coupons and worrying about which brand is on sale this week. In short, Lunapads and the Keeper have made my life less complicated — no small task! However, the thing that surprised me the most was my husband’s reaction over the period of my period, so to speak. When I first showed him the website and asked him what he would think about me trying out Lunapads, his reaction was, "It’s your body, just don’t ask me to touch them." Typical man, I thought, but a reasonable request, so I placed a small order just to try. To keep everything out of sight, I placed a tub of water under my side of the counter in the bathroom, and I drop used pads and liners into it as I use them. I wash them daily and let them air-dry on a rack in the linen closet. (I am planning to buy a wire shelf I can install under my sink for this purpose.) My husband and guests to my home never have to see my pads — it’s a simple process that is far more discreet than piling disposables in the trash can. The pads are so easy to care for that one day, as I was rinsing them out in the sink, my husband commented, "I guess if you were really sick and couldn’t get out of bed, I could do that for you." Which was basically his way of giving his approval of my process. A couple of days later, he suggested that I tell his sister about Lunapads — "because you're both girls and stuff". I had to press him, but he eventually admitted that he loves my Lunapads because he can tell that I am doing something good for myself by using them: I complain less about my flow, I have fewer leaks than with disposable pads, and I don’t have to wear a big bulky "overnight" pad to bed. I just placed another order with y'all, and I am looking forward to trying out Lunapanties on my next cycle. Thanks for all the good work and the excellent customer service (which I nearly forgot to mention!) — you have made a lifetime customer out of me." - Jamie D.
"I've had my original set of Lunapads for two years now, and even though I was a die-hard tampon user, I've found that my Lunapads get used far more often than my Keeper or my Sea Pearl sponges. Over the last year, I have developed an ovulatory menstrual cycle — which means that I bleed, but don't ovulate. As a result, I experience light bleeding or spotting on an almost constant basis, punctuated by occasional bouts of extremely heavy flow. Therefore, mini pads and Lunapanties have become — literally — indisposable! I have to wear them every day, so thank goodness they are so comfortable! I thank God for your products every week when I do the laundry, because I know that if I had had to rely on disposable pantiliners every day for the past year I would have been miserable. As it is, however, I can simply get on with my life — snap a mini pad into place and go, go, go. Now that my husband and I are embarking into the wide world of fertility treatment, I plan to use your products during my future pregnancy as well. My only problem with Lunapads is that I can't stop buying them! Because I use Mini Pads so often, I have fourteen of them in eight different prints. Whenever you come out with a new line of fabric choices, I have to order just a few more because they're so cute. I've started ordering two or three different prints at a time and keeping one of each color, then giving the rest to friends — because the choosing the color and style to match your mood, your underwear, or your whole outfit is just *too* much fun! Even though the idea of giving someone menstrual products as a gift might sound strange to unbelievers, the prints are so colorful and fun and the workmanship so good that they really do make excellent gifts. This time, my best girlfriend specifically requested more Luna pads for her birthday, to expand the set I bought her last year. Thanks for such a wonderful product that I can feel good about using and sharing with all my friends and my four sisters-in-law." - Jamie D.
"Thank you so much for the wonderful customer service! Y'all take such wonderful care of your customers." - Aubrey A.
"Thanks for your reply--I actually received my order today. I'm thrilled to have gotten them so quickly and to find that the website comments about customer service and fast shipping were spot on. Now I'm waiting for my period to hurry up and get here; honestly, who would have thought? All my best." - Jennifer W.
"Thank you for your information, I'm excited already. It's a pleasant surprise to see a personal response like yours. I can see why your customers are so impressed with the service in which they have received." - Kym
"I am so excited to receive my Lunapads. Thank you for having such a warm, welcoming environment. It is so nice to have everything be so personal, from the website to the emails, to the order form. I hope you have a lovely day and thanks again!" Very Sincerely, Alison L.
"I just wanted to let you know that my order, placed exactly a week ago, arrived today. I'm in Australia. Wow, that was quick. You said 'two to four weeks'.....and it arrived in exactly one! Thank you so much for your promptness. Thanks for including the Oil too that was a nice surprise. Am impressed by the contents of my package. The quality looks to be very good and the pads are prettier than I thought they would be. I'm trying out my 'cup' and I think I'm already a convert. I don't think it will take any more 'getting used to' than tampons did when I first started using them. Thanks again!" - Dawn E.
"I ordered a Starter Kit and absolutely love it! Unfortunately, one of the seams on my mini pad came apart. I emailed you gals and you sent me a replacement right away at no charge. This is the most amazing customer service I've ever had. Thank you so very much for being a wonderful company! I'm telling every woman I know about Lunapads." - Michelle C.
