Set of 2 Maxi Basic or Maxi Wing Liners. >> Click to View how Pads and Liners Work
Liner Inserts enhance the absorbency of Pads and Lunapanties to meet your particular needs, and will last approximately as long per use as a comparably-sized disposable pad or tampon. A single Pad will last you through a full day of your cycle, provided that the Liner Insert is changed before soaking through. Unlike Pantyliners, Liner Inserts must be used in conjunction with a Pad or Lunapanty.

How many Liners do I need?
You can expect to use 1 Pad or Lunapanty per day, changing your Liner Inserts 1 - 6 times, depending on how light or heavy your periods are. When your Liner Insert becomes saturated, replace with a fresh, dry Liner. Multiple Liners may be added (up to 4 at a time for very heavy flows) to help prevent leaks or extend the time between Liner changes..

    Dimensions
Maxi Basic Liners are approx. 10" (25cm) long and 2.5" (6cm) wide
Maxi Wing Liners are approx. 10" (25cm) long and 5.5" (14cm) wide across the wings.

    Construction
Liner Insert are made from 2 layers of 100% cotton fleece with serged edges.

    Performance
Liners enhance the absorbency of Lunapads and Lunapanties to meet your particular needs. Lunapads will last approximately as long (per use) as a comparably-sized disposable pad or tampon. Additional mindfulness may be advisable, however, as Lunapads are made with natural, more porous fibers and do not contain added chemicals or absorbing agents. Given this, Lunapads users need to be mindful of changing the Liner insert as frequently as their flow dictates in order to prevent soaking through the Pad. Frequent changing of the Liners significantly enhances the comfort and performance of the Pad.

Liners can be washed by hand or machine in any temperature with your regular detergent. Pre-soaking or rinsing in cold water prior to washing is recommended, but not always necessary, particularly if the pads are not heavily saturated. Please note that if pads are being soaked, soaking water must be changed daily.

We recommend Nellie’s Natural Laundry Soda for regular cleaning, and Buncha Farmers Stain Remover to perk up stained pads. Heavily stained liners may also occasionally benefit from machine wash and dry in hot settings.

Please avoid the use of chlorine bleach or fabric softeners to clean Liners.

Liners can be added as desired by inserting the ends under the ric-rac bands on a Pad. Wing Liners rest comfortably against the inner thigh, providing added lateral (side-to-side) protection. Multiple Liner Inserts may be inserted for increased absorbency. Pads can be refreshed throughout the day or night as desired by removing and replacing the Liners. Please note that Liner Inserts are not intended to be worn without a Pad.

    1. No more leaks, really? Review by Jen
      Quality

No matter what kind of disposable pad I wore, I would ALWAYS leak. Out the side, the back, the front. Even when I was just sitting down or when my flow was light! I tried pads with wings, different sizes and brands but nothing helped.

When I first tried lunapads, I assumed the same thing would happen. But I was shocked: No more blood on my underwear or pants! The wing liners are a godsend! Nothing has EVER worked this well! I can wear khaki when i'm on my period! Thank you lunapads! (Posted on 9/3/11)

    2. Better than disposables Review by Wings
      Quality

I always used to wear wings in disposables, so I ordered the wings for the Lunapads. I used them for the first time last cycle and they rocked! In my opinion, they worked better than disposables. Take that, Always! (Posted on 6/2/11)

    3. Bicycling back-up Review by Liz
      Quality

One thing I have always struggled with was having a back-up while riding my bicycle. (Those of you in the know will realize that cyclist don't have underwear under their shorts), so there is nothing to attach a pad to. On a recent ride, I tucked a liner into my shorts in order to protect the chamois. The experiment worked. The liner barely shifted during my ride. The only downside... Being cotton, it did soak up sweat in a somewhat unpleasant fashion. (Posted on 5/1/11)
