Postpartum advice success

I want to let you know how wonderfully your products have served me. Thank you so much for giving me your suggestions! It really helped me decide what to get. My daughter was born on a bed lined with leopard Lunablankets - they're so much nicer than paper pads! In the days after her birth, I lounged on Lunablankets wherever I sat. At night, they where so soft to sleep on!

The Lunablankets are so fabulous for sleeping on when you're nursing. Sometimes the early nursing days can be a wet affair! My daughter and I would curl up in bed on a Lunablanket. If it got too wet I would just pull it off and replace it with a clean one. I've birthed four babies, and this was the most comfortable I've ever been postpartum. I opened my package from you just moments ago, and I just had to write and thank you. Everything was wrapped so beautifully that I felt like I was opening up a present--I didn't even want to tear the tissue paper; it seemed kinda sacred or something. :) You really made everything feel so personal--from one woman to another in honor of her cycle. Other women who can understand how I'm feeling

Today I received my second order from Lunapads, and I couldn't be happier. These pads have changed my life. I made my first order a little over a month ago, just ordering two pads to try them out for last month's period. To my complete amazement, it was the first nearly cramp-free period I have ever experienced in my life - and I've had my period for over ten years. Normally, I have the kind of cramps that leave me doubled over in my bed, crying in agony with a heating pad pressed to my belly. Not with the Lunapads - the rare cramps I did experience during those few days were almost unnoticeable.

I had to wear a disposable pad during that same cycle while my Lunapads were in the wash, and was even more shocked when I began experiencing the familiar old searing cramps about a half hour after putting the disposable on. Perhaps it was a coincidence, perhaps it wasn't - either way, I've become convinced that disposable pads are toxic to our bodies and that I will never wear them again. Even aside from the blissful lack of cramps that I experienced with the Lunapads, I have *always* hated the amount of waste that disposable pads created, and the hassle of having to buy pads every month.

Other benefits are, of course, the sheer comfort of the pads - the fabric is incredibly soft on my tender skin, and I honestly didn't even feel the pads while I was wearing them. I feel free, happy and healthy now that I've switched to Lunapads. I can't wait to try out all the different types of pads that Lunapads offers, and I will definitely be a return-customer for life. I'm actually *looking forward* to my period this month, instead of dreading it! Amazing! :)

I must also mention how much I love the idea that Lunapads is a small company, comprised of women who can understand exactly the way I'm feeling. When I looked over the receipt of my first order and noticed that one of the gals had written 'Blessings!' in bright pink pen on my receipt, I somehow felt that I was being personally cared about :) What a wonderful product, a wonderful staff, a wonderful experience! An important step in caring for and respecting my body and the Earth

Thank you for sending the small Deluxe Lunapanties (replacement for xs) so quickly and in time to use for my period. This is the first month I've been using Lunapads and the Diva Cup, and so far I'm very happy with them. The Diva takes a bit of getting used to, but is more comfortable than a tampon, and an educational opportunity to measure my flow. The Lunapads are so very comfortable. I hated using conventional pads and having plastic against such a sensitive part of my body.

I'm actually experiencing my second cycle in over 3 years... I was using Depo Provera as birth control for 3 years, and did not have my period while the drug was in my system. It took almost a year once I was off Depo for my hormones to balance enough to have a cycle again. My overall experience with Depo was not as bad as some of the horror stories I've heard, but I did notice a few things I'd like to share. For one, I had never before had a fear of blood, but after not bleeding naturally for so long, I developed a queasy, almost an anxiety reaction when confronted with blood. Since the return of my cycle I no longer have this adverse reaction. Another thing I have noticed is how much more in touch with myself I feel - physiologically and emotionally - since beginning my cycle again. I am more balanced and seem to have less mood swings. I'm enjoying plotting my flow with the phases of the moon, and interested that I seem to have dropped right into a regular cycle that comes as the moon is waning to new.

I am reading Womens' Bodies, Womens' Wisdom by Dr. Christine Northrup, which is a learning experience indeed. I feel empowered by my menstral cycle, and am happy to embrace my womanhood and celebrate the natural rhythms of my body. I believe that my choice to use Lunapads and the Diva Cup is an important step in caring for and respecting my body and the earth. Thank you for creating such a fine product. Even my husband loves Lunapads!

I am a woman who is the exact opposite of the "type" you would expect to use Lunapads. I am not a naturalist or an environmentalist in any sense of the word, I don’t like to camp and I rarely travel. I am a young professional and a graduate student with a hectic schedule and a limited budget. I purchased a small set of Lunapads and a cup because I was interested in saving money — but I've discovered that the benefits go far beyond the financial savings.

I expected the pads to be an adjustment, but they're wonderful — I've found that I feel better all through my cycle, especially at night. They are so comfortable and reliable that I actually forgot that I was even having a period on my lighter days! This is a big deal as the weather heats up where I live in the southern U.S. — the soft cotton fleece is fantastic when it starts to get humid.

In addition to sleeping more peacefully, I can work at my office all day and go to grad school at night with just my cup and a mini pad. In short, your products have made my life less complicated — no small task! However, the thing that surprised me the most was my husband’s reaction over the period of my period, so to speak. When I first showed him the website and asked him what he would think about me trying out Lunapads, his reaction was, "It’s your body, just don’t ask me to touch them." Typical man, I thought, but a reasonable request, so I placed a small order just to try. To keep everything out of sight, I placed a tub of water under my side of the counter in the bathroom, and I drop used pads and liners into it as I use them. I wash them daily and let them air-dry on a rack in the linen closet. (I am planning to buy a wire shelf I can install under my sink for this purpose.)

My husband and guests to my home never have to see my pads — it’s a simple process that is far more discreet than piling disposables in the trash can. The pads are so easy to care for that one day, as I was rinsing them out in the sink, my husband commented, "I guess if you were really sick and couldn’t get out of bed, I could do that for you." Which was basically his way of giving his approval of my process.

A couple of days later, he suggested that I tell his sister about Lunapads — "because you're both girls and stuff". I had to press him, but he eventually admitted that he loves my Lunapads because he can tell that I am doing something good for myself by using them: I complain less about my flow, I have fewer leaks than with disposable pads, and I don’t have to wear a big bulky "overnight" pad to bed. I just placed another order with y'all, and I am looking forward to trying out Lunapanties on my next cycle. Firstly, I'd just like to say that I received my black cotton thong with the liner sewn in today. I'm wearing it right now and I'll be darned if it isn't the most comfortable pair of underwear I've ever owned. Period.

What I really came here to talk about though, is how helpful the customer service staff were, especially Sara! My debit card company had doubled my transactions from Lunapads, so basically there was just under $100 extra being held from my account. So, I called my bank to get this fixed, and of all the things they requested that a FAX be sent to them from Lunapads stating that the funds are to be release and why. I thought this was ridiculous and unfair, but I called Sara back anyways and asked her to do this for me. She took the time out of her busy day to fax these silly people and within an hour I had the extra money back from my bank. So, thank you Lunapads.com - and double thanks to miss Sara!
