Lunapanties All in One Period Underwear

    What are Lunapanties?

Lunapanties are an innovative hybrid of underwear and Lunapads that have a fleece gusset panel permanently sewn in, making them an all-in-one replacement for disposable Pads and Pantyliners.  Lunapanties make great everyday underwear, and can also be used for light to average flow or as backup protection with The DivaCup. Brief, Bikini and Hipster styles include a Maxi or Long Liner Insert to adjust absorbency. Like Lunapads, Lunapanties are made in Vancouver, Canada.

Lunapanties are made from 95% Organic Cotton and 5% Lycra for a smooth, snug fit. The fleece panel is made with 100% certified Organic Cotton fleece.

    How do Lunapanties work?

Worn on their own without a Liner Insert, Lunapanties will last approximately as long (per use) as a disposable pantyliner. When worn with a Liner Insert,  Lunapanties are comparable to a disposable pad. Additional mindfulness may be advisable, however, as Lunapanties are made with natural, more porous fibers and do not contain added chemicals or absorbing agents. Liner Inserts can be added for additional absorbency as needed. Changing your Liner before soaking through is the key to staying comfortable and dry throughout the day.

    What size should I choose?

With feet together, wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your hips. Be sure to keep the measuring tape comfortably loose and level across your back. Allow a 5% rate of shrinkage, or approximately 1/2 an inch overall. Lunapanties are made of 95% Organic Cotton and 5% Lycra for a smooth, snug fit.

To ensure that you are satisfied with the size and fit, please try Lunapanties on over your own underwear. If you have purchased several pairs, please use and wash only 1 of them in order to ensure your comfort and satisfaction prior to using and washing all of them.

How are Lunapanties different from disposable pads and pantyliners?

In so many great ways! Lunapanties are more comfortable and breathable than disposables, and do not contain any chemical residues, plastics or glue that can ruin your panties or stick to you. Lunapanties have the pad sewn permanently in the panty, so you don't have to worry about it bunching up or moving around. They also create far less expense and waste than disposable pads and pantyliners.

How are Lunapanties different from Lunapads?

Rather than being used in conjunction with your own underwear, Lunapanties are an all-in-one solution. Like Pad style Lunapads, however, you can add iners to Bikini, Brief and Hipster style Lunapanties for extra absorbency as needed.

How are Lunapanties different from regular underwear?

Lunapanties are essentially highly functional underwear. Use them for absorbing daily discharge, backup protection for the DivaCup, light stress incontinence or menstrual flow, or on days when you're sure that your period is going to start, but hasn't yet. We all have a collection of “period panties” stashed away for when we need them - Lunapanties are simply a more luxurious and functional version of the same thing.

What fabrics are used to make Lunapanties?

Made from 95% Organic Cotton and 5% Lycra for a smooth, snug fit. Gusset is lined with 100% Organic Fleece. Liner Insert is made from 2 layers of 100% organic cotton fleece.

How long can I wear them for?

As with regular underwear, you should not wear them for longer than one day without switching to a fresh pair. Lunapads will also fit over your Lunapanties, for heavy flow coverage.  With Lunapanties, the removable liner feature means that you can wear them for longer. As with Lunapads, being sure to change liners frequently is the best way to avoid leaks.

    Will Lunapanties leak?

As with Lunapads, you need to choose the right product (i.e. Lunapanties should not be used for heavy flow) and change Liners frequently to prevent leaks.

I'm pregnant. Why are Lunapanties better than regular underwear for me?

Lunapanties are ideal for use during pregnancy. When you're pregnant, you leak quite a bit of discharge all the time, making Lunapanties perfect for every day use. Once the baby comes, Lunapanties also come in handy for light post-partum bleeding, and are much softer and less irritating to wear than disposable pads or pantyliners.

Can I wear Lunapanties for incontinence?

Many customers have found Lunapanties to be a comfortable, economical and discreet solution for light or stress incontinence. Lunapanties' removable liner feature provide extra protection and security, but should not be relied upon for chronic conditions.

How do I wash and care for my Lunapanties?

Lunapanties can be washed by hand or machine in any temperature with your regular detergent. Pre-soaking or rinsing in cold water prior to washing is recommended, but not always necessary, particularly if they are not heavily saturated. Please note that if Lunapanties are being soaked, soaking water must be changed daily.

We recommend natural cleaning products such as Nellie’s All Natural Laundry Soda for regular cleaning, and Buncha Farmers Stain Remover to perk up stained pads. Heavily stained pads may also benefit from occasional machine wash and dry in hot settings or air drying in direct sunlight.

Please avoid the use of chlorine bleach or fabric softeners to clean Lunapanties, as this will decrease the performance and absorbency of the products, in addition to being harmful to the environment.
